Four people escape duplex fire in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WEDF) - Chattanooga fire investigators are looking into what started a blaze that ripped through a duplex apartment.

It happened early this morning on the 1800 block of South Kelley Street. The fire appears to have started at the rear of one apartment
Three people were in the unit when the blaze was discovered and all three got out safely. Another resident in the unit next door also got out unharmed.

Damages are estimated at $40,000.      

Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee were called in to provide assistance to the victims.
