The futures of the Tivoli Theatre and Memorial Auditorium were rolled out this morning as politicians, local artists and board members deliberated over what happens next for the landmark venues.
Manny Rico, "venues like this give people a better quality of life, it's a not for profit venue, it's to serve the public."
Discussed was the potential lease, sale and naming rights of the Tivoli and Sailors Memorial Auditorium,
Missy Crutchfield,"Will it be Volkswagen? Probably not, would it be Coca Cola, that would be great, would it be..any number of folks in Chattanooga that feel a calling, would love to see a pairing that matches the patriotism that this building stands for."
All gathered felt the Auditorium's historical importance to the city and it's veterans could not be overlooked.
Retired Navy Rear Admiral Vance Fry has just launched a database to preserve the memories of those who served from our area.
"To put their photos and their service records into our database and when they come down or anybody else comes into the Auditorium they can key in the name on a touch tone screen".
Striking the balance between generating revenue while preserving history is the task facing the team as they move forward.
