DALTON, GA, (WDEF)-Joshua Jaran Johnson is tonight a free man.
The Carbondale teen is no longer accused of murdering his grandmother in 2010.

DA Bert Poston,"foremost you have to establish it was murder then you have to establish who did it, we were at the point where we couldn't establish it was murder"

Poston says suicide could be a possible reason for the death of Lorraine Frazier  but there was not enough evidence to prove homicide or suicide.

"If it was suicide it was a  very unusual suicide accompanied by some very unusual circumstances in terms of death and the statements he had made previously"

Johnson's Atlanta based attorney welcomed the news.

"To hear that the charges are no longer pending is a huge relief to the family and essentially gives Joshua and his family their lives back'

The Da's office dismissed the case Monday at Juvenile court in Whitfield county.

Robbie Walka, Whitfield county Juvenile court,"I know they affect the child that was involved in this and certainly it would affect all the family around him, the victim was a family member, that's particularly disturbing"

57 year old Frazier died in the home that she shared with her then 15 year old grandson.

Joshua Johnson now 18 is believed to be living in Atlanta.
