Art can bring new life to a community.
If you want proof, just take a drive down Glass Street.
That's where you'll find the largest mural of its kind in Chattanooga.
Two professional artists teamed up with students, interns, and residents to create it.
It was unveiled Friday night.
A young girl on the mural symbolizes hope.
A little boy emphasizes the importance of education.
And a motherly figure knits a tapestry of love for the future.
The project is sponsored by the Glass House Collective.
That's a non profit organization established to bring life and a sense of pride back to Glass Street.
Katherine Currin is the group's director.
"It's a beautification, enhancing the appearance of the street, getting people out of their cars, out of their houses to experience this area."
Myles Freeman is one of the people who worked on the project.
"I think the basic message is one of hope, and passing down values from one generation to another."
The mural is located at the corner of Glass Street and North Chamberlain Avenue.
