The effort to revitalize Glass Street in East Chattanooga gets a boost from a project in Memphis.
The director of "Build a Better Block" talked by video conference with the folks at the City Share meeting in Chattanooga this afternoon.
The project succeeded in converting an underused commercial corridor in Memphis into a revitalized block.
Glass House Collective is trying to do the same thing on Glass Street.
Teal Thibaud, Glass House Collective, "That's a long process right? But you know what we can do at build a better block? We can do some pop up shops. We can do some pop up ... and get people in these storefronts and sell the things that the community would like to see so it kind of shows folks, wow this could happen."
Glass House is planning a Better Block weekend at the end of February.
