Jeffery "Groovie" Mattock has seen more challenging times in his life than this hill off the East Brainerd Exit.
"I used to do a lot of evil in my life and I try to do as much good as I possibly can and try to help people," said Matlock.
So he and his buddies took it upon themselves to help vehicles make it up for hours.
"Me and Jamie were actually gonna try slide down the hill and have some fun but we get out here and saw people having problems so we just started trying to help," Matlock said.
Sometimes they coached, and sometimes they pushed.
They kept the hill clear of traffic build up by taking just one car at a time.
Groovie sees the snowy hill as a metaphor for life.
"I have a page called the groovy nation and we try to keep people motivated and you know just be positive and never give up.  And a lot of people get on this hill and decide, 'Oh, I'm stuck I can't move' well we prove that wrong, you can get up this hill if you try," said Matlock
