HIXSON, TN (WDEF)- The Hamilton County Coalition addresses the public on how they're making an impact on the community.

They tell us their main goals are preventing alcohol and tobacco use among young people.

Camilla Bibbs-Lee, the Director of the Hamilton County Coalition, says, "Just so we stop that trend and reduce you access to alcohol, we send youth out to see if they can purchase and if they do, then there is a citation issued by local law enforcement."

The Hamilton County Coalition also talked about supporting drug take back programs.

The luncheon Wednesday was hosted by the Advisory Council on Traffic Safety.

The Hamilton County Coalition is taking a hands on approach.

They're going out with officers to do compliance checks on venders who are suspected of selling alcohol to minors.
