One Cleveland husband surprised his wife this Valentine's Day with something most wives would never imagine getting.
He transformed his back yard into a heart shaped pond. Mary Wooten, Cleveland said, "We had just pasture down there and he came in one evening and asked me if it would be okay if he built a pond down there and I said, 'I don't mind'." Little did Mary know Phil had a special project in mind.
Mary Wooten, Cleveland said, "He came in and said do you want to look out and see what's going on. And I looked down there, and there was a heart shaped pond. More like a lake because its about half of an acre." Both Phil and Mary lost their long term spouses a few years ago. She had been married fifty years and he for over thirty years. Mary said, "My former husband died of a stroke. I took care of him for seven and a half years. Once you've lost your spouse your whole world is turned upside down." Phil said, "Well after a long, long marriage and your spouse passing away, you are so distraught you never think. I had a broken heart. And she really saved me."
So Phil thought to himself how could he pay her back. Phil said, "Go get a post card. Go get a Valentine's card or some flowers? Thats not permanent. Why not surprise her with a heart shape pond." A note also went along with the pond. Mary said, "Every morning when you look out the window, that tells you how much I love you."
The couple have only been married a few years, but are beyond blessed to have found each other. Phil said, "Just beyond words and joy to have that one more time in your life after is just one in a million, nah one in a zalllion, that you can have that a second time."
