The $100,000 dollar investment comes from the Leonore Annenberg Scholarship, Fellowship, and School Funds.
Hillcrest leaders used the money to create "book nooks" in every classroom.
The "book nook" is basically a mini library in every class.
A wide selection of books, arranged in accessible bookcases and cubbies, is now available to each child at Hillcrest.
The students have soft cushions and chairs on colorful rugs.
They also have bright reading lights to encourage them to read.
Angelia Askins is the Principal at Hillcrest Elementary.
"We wanted our students to have a place in every classroom. That they can go and snuggle up in a warm cozy place and read".
Hillcrest Elementary partnered with the school district and the Public Education Foundation to get the money.
