Police and school authorities were unable to speak on the death of Lamunta Williams today.
However Hamilton County Schools superintendent Rick Smith feels this is an incident that shows students are under a lot of social pressure.
Rick,"Our students are students during the day while at school but they may have to take on different persona on the street and unfortunately I think that also includes behavior."
Howard High, Principal Paul Smith feels that schools must be prepared to deal with any student related issues.
Paul Smith,"We are in the inner city and so we cant say we are immune to anything and really no school, be it inner city, urban, suburban or rural can say they are immune to anything."
The suspect 18 year old Courtney Birt is also a former student of Howard High.
