Let's Move, that was the slogan Sunday at the Benton Place campus in Ringgold.
It was an event designed to get kids off the couch, and it worked.
Dozens of children from kindergarten through fifth grade took part in several free activities.
Those included gymnastics, jump rope, and everything in between.
E.W. Dempsey, an organizer, says, "The physical education classes are really almost become a joke because kids only have phys ed 30 minutes a week, whereas we need to be exercising 30 minutes a day. And so the Let's Move Campaign was designed to bring a focus on a need to support kids in schools and also in the home."
Bob DeForest, Pastor ofBattlefield Community Seventh Day Adventist Church, adds, "Gives them a longer life, a more productive life. We just think it's better all the way around for the family if they can get out and become active, so just want to promote that."
The Battlefield Community 7th Day Adventist Church organized the event.
They held it in conjunction with Michelle Obama's campaign to end childhood obesity.
