Local Political and City Officials Look Forward To Obama Visit

CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)- It's here at Amazon's state of the art plant at Enterprise South that President Obama will visit next Tuesday.

Local democrats are excited about the visit.

Joe Boshears, Democratic Party member, "President Barack Obama to come to Chattanooga because it highlights the successes we have had in Chattanooga creating middle class jobs and doing so as a bi-partisan effort, you folks talk about the Chattanooga model."

Local Republican Party members say the office of the president should be respected regardless of who holds it.

Tony Sanders, "Whether you respect the man that is the president, you do have to respect the office of the president of the United States, President of the United States coming to Chattanooga is going to put us on the national map"

Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce feel the visit highlights the success of the GigCity and Chattanooga's strong Manufacturing mentality.

J.Ed.Marston,"Chattanooga really is a national example in the last few years of how to do things right on the one hand we have attracted a lot of foreign direct investment  for VW and some of these other companies that have invested in Chattanooga, we are really part of the resurgence in American Manufacturing"

A number of Employees declined to speak on camera but said they are excited about the visit and it means a lot to them and their families.
