Hundreds of soldiers and sailors who won't be home for Christmas, will get a holiday greeting...thanks to local students.
The Girls Scout troops at CSLA collected cards for members of our military.
It's part of a program by the American Red Cross.
The group will distribute the greetings to service members both stateside and overseas who will spend Christmas away from home.
The Girl Scouts got the whole school involved with the service project.
It's a way for the girls to give back to the community, but they got a lesson out of it too.
Rosie Brader, Volunteer Grandparent and Veteran, "This program has taught the girls a lot about thinking about what service men are up against when they have to leave their families and be gone."
The girls originally set a goal of collecting 600 cards.
They ended up exceeding that...collecting around 800.
