Chattanooga's Southside celebrated for 24 hours straight Saturday.
It's called Main x24. For several years now, local groups line Main Street. Not only to revitalize the downtown area, but also help out non-profit organizations. More than ten non-profits participated like Habitiat for Humanity. They held a chili cookoff in hopes the money raised will help support their cause.
Dawn Hjelseth, Habitat for Humanity said, "Habitat for Humanity is here with our 4th annual chili championship cookoff, obviously we have thousands of people coming through sampling 17 different flavors of chili, and all the money raised today will go to habitat for humanity."
The event will wrap up Sunday at 9am.
