There was lots of celebrating in Coolidge Park this weekend. A new restaurant, Meo Mio's, brought Mardi Gras to the Scenic City, Saturday.
Meo Mio's organized a Mardi Gras themed parade with music from the Tyner High School Marching Band. Those in the parade threw candy, Moonpies and beads.
The restaurant hopes to make the New Orleans style parade an annual event.
“It will probably be ten times bigger than this,” said Restaurant General Manager John Boyd.”But definitely we would like to go a little further than just the Coolidge Park.”
Meo Mio's is located on Cummings Highway.
