Bliss Welch was recently named Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee for 2013.
Welch lost her ability to walk due to muscular dystrophy when she was 27 years old.
Welch says she will use her title to create better awareness about people with disabilities.
She spread that message to the students at Westview Elementary.
She read a book to the kids about a young girl in a wheelchair.
Welch also plans to reach out to the community, and use social media to connect with individuals with disabilities.
This summer, she will compete in the Ms. Wheelchair America pageant in Houston, Texas.
