Neighbors describe Creek Meadows is quiet, well kept community.

But they say this 8x12 concrete slab has caused animosity along Ellen Drive.

Resident Gary Dixon says he's worried a new dumping area will attract garbage from far beyond the street and drive down home prices and appeal.

"And I do not approve of it one way or the other. I have went to the city and sat in on a city meeting and everything and they went ahead and built it anyway," Dixon says.

Vice Mayor Rex Pesnell refused to comment and Mayor David Jackson did not return our calls Thursday.

The slab sits closest to the yard of Pastor Ronnie Case, who declined to comment on camera but says he thought the slab was an improvement.

He says there was a 'mud hole' where the community already put rubbish and brush.

But Creek Meadows Resident Dennis Morrow says the city went about it all wrong.

"They could've questioned a few of the neighbors to get their opinion on it. Most people seem to be against it," Morrow says.

And they're engaging in heated debates with those who were initially in support...

Resident Bill Rogers says he's concerned the area will be misused.

With the county dumpsters less than a mile up the road he posted a question for the city:

"I think maybe they've heard this before but I'd ask them if they'd like to have this in their neighborhood. I personally don't want to have it."

Dixon described the current trash and brush service as 'bar none'.

"We have the finest garbage collection system ever," he says.

That's why he says this controversial new addition he calls an 'eyesore' is unnecessary.
