What Chattanooga Police believe went on behind closed doors is alarmingly graphic, and according to neighbors mind-blowing.
Candice Moss, a neighbor, adds, "Shocking to really hear."
Police believe Cecil Glenn Powe Junior went into a young family member's room, touched her and performed oral sex on her, all while she slept.
DJ Gates, a neighbor, says, "You're supposed to be a father figure, and that's abuse."
According to court papers, the young victim told proper authorities, and after a couple days Powe confessed to the sexual encounters.
He also told police they happened five or six times in the last month.
Moss adds, "He should be walking the walk and he should be setting an example, not only for his kids, but other kids, adults, anybody."
Before this incident, community members thought Powe set an example at United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, where they tell us he preached on occasion.
We went there to ask what exactly his role was, however, church leaders told us quote, "No comment."
Gates adds, "To hear somebody that's supposed to be in church, a man of God, out there doing stuff to children. It's not right at all."
Powe remains in jail on a $900,000 bond, and some neighbors tell us that is exactly where he belongs.
Dan Thomas, a neighbor, says, "Shouldn't get out. That's as bad as murder as far as I'm concerned."
The pastor of United Tabernacle Church of God in Christ is Ronnie Powe, Senior.
No word on if he and Cecil Powe are related.
