New charge in Chattanooga murder case

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - Hamilton County Prosecutors are coming down hard on a Chattanooga woman at the center of a murder case that began earlier this year.

Carmisha Lay, 24 of Chattanooga  was already facing a first degree murder charge in addition to aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in connection to a the shooting death of Edward Glenn Jr.

To ensure a conviction, prosecutors have added the charge of felony murder which is a lesser charge.

The case stared back in January when police say she invited Edward Glenn Jr. to her house. According to the arrest report she also invited two other men into the home while Glenn was already inside. He was reportedly robbed and shot to death.

Lay reportedly took his cell phone which was eventually recovered by investigators at a different location.

She is no stranger to trouble. Her rap sheet dates back to 2008 and includes arrests for domestic assault and even child abuse.
