CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) - The "TCAP Boot Camp" took place over several days at the Chattanoogan Hotel.
The students from Orchard Knob Middle School used games and activities to get them not only prepared, but excited about learning.
The educators dressed up in fatigues and camo clothing to simulate a real "boot camp."
The 6th, 7th and 8th graders took part in four different rotations.
Those rotations include the subjects of Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
During each rotation, students take part in activities that are directly related to the questions that they will need to know during TCAP testing time.
The Chattanoongan Hotel donated 3 ballrooms to get the students off campus to prepare for the testing.
The Hotel, the McDonald's on Aminicola Highway, and volunteers provided food for the camp.
Special guest speakers from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga also helped motivate the students.
