Sickle Cell Disease, three words that are bringing dozens of Chattanoogans to their feet.

The CMinor World Foundation hosted a benefit concert Saturday night to draw more attention to the disease.

SCD is a genetic blood disorder.

Organizers hope money from the event will help the Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee.

They say their goal is $10,000, and they are halfway there.

Janelle Drake, a performer, says, "It's special for me because my husband has the disease, so it has a special place in my heart. It's also special because there are so many people who are affected, but there's not much spoken about it, so we're trying to come here and change that."

Grammy award-nominated artist, Tonya Baker, also took the stage along with several others.
