CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF),More than 2 years after the brutal beating and murder of Pastor David Strong, Antonio Henry plead guilty to second degree murder.
It's a charge his attorney, Dan Ripper feels was justified.
Dan Ripper, "It's a desire on my client's part to have a life to live, when he gets done, right now he's in his late twenties, in twenty years, he's in his late forties, he's a man with a lot of life left to live".
Neal Pinkston of the District Attorney's office hopes this sentence will set an example.
Neal Pinkston,""I hope any type of, any individuals watching, 20 years to serve, day for day, hopefully would discourage individuals in the future from similar actions, but that's up to the individual."
Henry's cousin, Brendan Barnes is also charged with the incident that happened in October 2010.
The two were also charged with robbing the 55 year old Pastor and claimed to have initially gone to his house to smoke marijuana.
Dan ripper,"There would have been things that went into why they were there, what happened while they were there, there's a lot more that happened while they were there than was not mentioned by the District Attorney".
Barnes' trial date has not been set.
