One Tennessee native has taken it upon himself to spread a message to America.
Pastor Walter McGill, 'Walking Coast 2 Coast' said, "Started from the Atlantic Ocean. Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. With a kiss and a prayer." Flag in hand. Saluting cars. That's what you will see Pastor Walter "Chick" McGill doing as you drive past him. He's promoting a message to America in hopes of a new birth of freedom. McGill said, "We have to start with the family. We have to teach our children the right principals. Raise them up so that we will have strong families. Strong communities. Strong counties and strong states. And a strong United States of America."
And he's walking across the country to spread that message. McGill said, "It's love your neighbor as you love yourself. America needs healing. And the only way to be healed is to show respect to each other." McGill's wife of 19 years, Barbara, couldn't be more proud of her husband. She documents their journey on facebook and online. Barbara McGill, said, "Oh I think its great. I totally support everything that he has said and what we are doing. America does need healing."
The journey began 55 days ago and McGill plans to continue his 32-hundred mile walking tour to the Santa Monica Pier in California. McGill said, "I carry the symbol of we the people. It's a symbol of honor and respect. All Americans can understand. God told me to carry it with dignity. And to show discipline and an example of respect to all of my fellow Americans." McGill continues his walk into Cleveland and Chattanooga Friday morning. If you would like more information on his journey visit: www.walkingcoast2coast.com
