A pilot is recovering after crashing into the Hiwassee River Sunday afternoon.
Details are limited, but Meigs County dispatchers tell us the pilot did get out safely.
It happened around five Sunday afternoon.
Dispatchers believe he was the only one on board.
No word on what caused the crash.
