CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)-Local Tea Party Activists say Obama is coming to Chattanooga to support a VW workers Union.

Mark West,"Obama is coming to Amazon directly across the street from VW makes one question if that is in fact playing in to his agenda, he certainly owes Unions in a big way as Unions helped get him elected"

Chattanooga Area Labor Council President  Sean Paul Kimball says this isn't visit about politics it's about normal working folk.

"Talking to the workers  at VW who actually work in the plant versus talking to the politicians and the other people who always seem to have the company's best interest in mind"

Chattanooga Republican Tony Sanders says Unions and Obama's support for them hasn't done Detroit any favors.

"Volkswagen are going to make their decision, the VW workers are going to make their decision i'm just not sure Unions are the way to go, look at Detroit, lets face it"

Kimball says Chattanoogans have no need to fear Unions turning their city into a Detroit of the South as he says Detroit politicians are to blame for the city's bankruptcy.

"I don't know how much they blame the unions for the downfall of Detroit, Detroit's a city and it has city managers, mayors, city councilmen"

VW told News 12 they have received no contact from the White House regarding Tuesday's visit.
