Sergeant Brenda Hafley

Sgt. Brenda Hafley was a 25 year veteran of the Chattanooga Police Department.   Prior to her recent retirement Sgt. Hafley received the coveted “Chief’s Award.”  These words were offered at the ceremony:

After serving honorably in various capacities with the Chattanooga Police Department for 25 years, Sgt. Brenda Hafley discovered she had an extremely rare form of cancer.  She has battled this illness like a trooper continuing to work when she could, even during painful treatments.  Throughout her struggle to recover, she has maintained a positive, upbeat attitude. She is admired and loved by her friends, family, and coworkers.  Sgt. Hafley has proven herself to be a strong, determined fighter and has overcome a powerful illness.

Sgt. Hafley was an example to us all in overcoming adversity.- Chief Bobby Dodd

This past Saturday, Sgt. Brenda Hafley passed away.  She will be sorely missed by her brothers and sisters in blue.
