Two Chattanooga Red Cross volunteers were honored at their first ever luncheon on Monday.

The Southeast Tennessee chapter awarded a Special Citation for Exceptional Volunteer Service to David Kaplan, who has served in many roles since 2003.
He's also a member of the disaster team.

Also singled out for special honors is 20-year veteran volunteer Kathleen Garrison of Rhea county.

She serves on the on-call disaster Team.

Trish Horner, a Red Cross Volunteer, says, "Do the application, get you started as far as the training and all of the training is free, none of it costs anything for the volunteer, and then just happy to have you come play with us."

The luncheon keynote speaker was our own WDEF TV 12 News Anchor Amy Katcher.

Red Cross Community Chapter Executive Greg Waite served as emcee.
