The power of voting; that was the message at the Hamilton County Democratic Party Fundraiser Saturday night.
The event was held at Olivet Baptist Church in downtown Chattanooga. And Congressman John Lewis was the keynote speaker. He reminded all voters on the importance of casting a ballot this election season.
“But we need to vote more,” said Representative Lewis. “Not any of us, not one of us can afford to stay at home on Election Day. We have to vote. Our people struggled for the right to vote. They died for the right to vote. It is powerful.”
The Georgia Congressman also spent time at a fundraiser at Saint Paul AME Church Saturday afternoon.
