The Kangaroo Express convenience store that was extensively damaged by April tornadoes celebrated its reopening on Thursday, Dec. 8 after a complete rebuilding of the store and gas pumps. Mayor Barger will lead the celebration with a ribbon cutting announcing its open doors.
The new store features Kangaroo Express’ “Fresh Initiative,” including wider aisles, a broader assortment of pastries, warm breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, and fountain beverages. A new spacious serving station offers new and improved Bean Street Coffee, upgraded cups, lids and a wide variety of coffee flavorings, allowing guests to customize their cup of Bean Street Coffee. In addition, the store will offer fresh sandwiches and salads for on-the-go lunch and dinner occasions.
While rebuilding, Kangaroo Express also added energy efficient lighting, including LED lighting outside of the store. Inside the store, a reduced number of low-wattage light bulbs with white reflectors provide a greater amount of light with less energy. LED lighting will also be installed in the fuel canopies once complete.
