We caught up with one family from Ringgold who finished the race just 28 minutes before the first explosion.

Angela Amick tells us this was her husband Matthew's first Boston Marathon.

Needless to say, they're a bit shaken up, but happy they left the race when they did.

Angela Amick, says, "We were just there. He had a good race this morning. It wasn't his fastest race, but it definitely wasn't his slowest either. He very well could have been finishing around the time that these explosions happened, so we're just so thankful that for us.  Selfishly, and for our friend's baby, that he was fastest enough that we were gone."

Angela tells us this is her husband's 9th full marathon.
