Ringgold Middle School's water system is back on line after being shut down for 24 hours. The all clear order was given by the city around 8am this morning.
The city of Ringgold had posted a notice at the school on Wednesday.
It told them not drink any water unless it was boiled first.
Catoosa County Director of Operations Doug Suites says the city was doing maintenance on a fire hydrant near the school.  Officials say the advisory was merely a precaution.
"The posting that we found yesterday morning is a requirement by the state of Georgia for all water companies and Ringgold city posted the announcement to us, and that is part of their protocol anytime they work on a water line. Or a fire hydrant in this case, so they followed through and we followed through on their recommendations for safety's sake," Suits said.
The city of Ringgold said in a statement "a certified lab reported that the water was safe to drink."
