Dozens of people lined Dodson Avenue to see what would happen in a long SWAT Team stand off.
The suspect is 19-year-old Dameion Renolds.  He is wanted all because of an attempted robbery of a Cricket store around just before two in the afternoon.
"There was no actual robbery that occurred he didn't get away with anything, it was just an attempted armed robbery," said Chattanooga Police Department Public Information Officer Nathan Hartwig.
Survellance video from the store captured his get away vehicle which was spotted at the house along with Reynolds.
"Witnesses saw the suspect flee in a vehicle which we saw at 551 Dodson Avenue.  At one point someone had seen the suspect enter the residence.  He was armed with a hand gun," said Hartwig.
Police spent hours trying to communicate with him and get him to come out.
Tear gas was fired into the residence at least four times during the standoff, but no suspect surrender.
The team even went inside the house two separate times, both time coming out empty handed.
After around five hours on the scene, the team finally determined Reynolds was not in the house and called off the standoff.
"It's still an ongoing investigation.  We're still working on the robbery, we just know who it is, but I can't go into a lot of details about it," Hartwig said.
Reynolds remains on the loose and police do consider him armed and dangerous
