SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, TN. (WDEF) ----South Pittsburg has the Cornbread Festival, Chattanooga has Riverbend, and Polk County has the Ramp Festival.
One of the newest events is coming up this weekend in scenic Sequatchie county---its called Valley Fest.
Organizers are expecting the biggest crowd ever for the 3-year old music event.

The folks around Dunlap like to say---"we're a little town that knows how to throw a great party."
As anyone can tell from the photos at the Chamber of Commerce office, those who came last year vouch for that.
This year's Valley Fest will be held in the downtown area, with headliner, Exile.

WINSTON PICKETT, EXEC. DIR. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE "We were looking to do something that would bring about interest into the area...promote economic development and all sorts of one of the folks said yeah, we need to have an arts show or something..out of that grew what we see today as Valley Fest."

There will be two stages with wall-to-wall music all day Saturday and Sunday.
There'll be other events including a run and fun walk , and plenty of country food.
One of the performers is award-winning blue grass singer Carrie Hassler, who is from Bledsoe county, but whose music now takes her all over the country.

CARRIE HASSLER, BLUE GRASS PERFORMER "I had never sung bluegrass...always been a fan, but never did I try to sing it. Well, then finally when I put a group together , you know one thing led to another and it ended up kind of falling in my lap...and starting to tour regionally, then nationally..and here we are."

Carrie has also had a number one song on European country radio and Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction.

WINSTON PICKETT "Our friends at Riverbend have given us an idea on what to look for..and Cornbread as well, because they have more years experience..we've talked to do we do these things, how can we improvement it. Its steadily improved. "

Valley Fest continues on Sunday.

Valley Fest features a variety of music styles.
The lineup Saturday and Sunday includes World Music.. Reggae.. Rock.. Country and bluegrass.
But here are the headliners on Saturday night.
Carrie Hassler takes the state at six Central Time.
Then it's Dunlap native Cody McCarver at Seven bringing his version of Outlaw Country.
Cody is a former member of Confederate Railroad, and he even has acted in a few movies recently.
Then it's veteran pop and country hit makers--- Exile.
They are celebrating their 50th year making music together this year.
