SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, TN (WDEF) - Signal Mountain 12th graders are learning more about the outdoors.
TVA teamed up with students at Signal Mountain Middle High school.
They're creating an outdoor classroom for the entire school.
The seniors are building it.
It's focused on the subject of science.
Officials hope to get some community involvement in the project.
Students will eventually install a solar panel to help power the outdoor classroom.
Robert Dodson is the Senior Project Mentor for the school.
"This is a senior project so we're hoping, the plan is to have them have it completed by the time they graduate, the second week of May.
The main thing is to give back to the school. You know they completed their high school career here and they really want to give back something that all the students can use. Something they can be proud of.
Something that the school could be proud of.
That they know they put their stamp on."
We'll bring you an update on the class in an upcoming edition "What's Right With Our Schools."
