Thursday night, Soddy Daisy's city manager Hardie Stulce resigned.
He went back to a railroad company so he could get full retirement benefits.
Mayor Janice Cagle then resigned and took his position.
That made former vice Mayor Rick Nunley the new Mayor.
He says it was easier to let former Mayor Cagle fill the manager position instead of searching for a new one.
"Miss Cagle was city manager for nine years so she has the experience, she has the know how or the knowledge of how this city runs, she's local, she was available, willing. It was kind of a no brainer on the commission's part," said Nunley.
Nunley said the Soddy Daisy commission will decide on a new Vice Mayor at their next meeting.
