Hamilton County EMS officials say the 22-year-old woman was hiking with three friends on Middle Creek trail off Suck Creek road and somehow fell around six-o-clock.
When rescuers reached the victim she had a fractured leg but was alert and in stable condition.
Currently, there are 60 rescue personnel on the scene assisting Waldens Ridge personnel.
Rescuers have the victim on a stretcher and plan to use ropes to pull her up to safety.
They expect it may take a few more hours.
