TDOT Announces New Projects in Hamilton County

CHATTANOOGA, TN. (WDEF-TV)---   The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it spend 1.5 billion dollars on state road improvements beginning later this year.

Commissioner John Schroer was in Chattanooga this afternoon to check on the progress of the highway 27 work, but he also announced new planned projects in Hamilton county.
He says work will be done this year and next on: Widening I-24 from to the Tennessee River Bridge, and widening the Olgiati Bridge, widening Apison Pike from lee Highway to State Road 321, and widening East Brainerd road around the Graysville road intersection.

"From and economic standpoint, you've got everything that you need to really boost this, so we want to be a partner with both the county and the city...and Governor Haslam is right behind us a 100 we're excited about it."

Work is also set for I-75 in Bradley county later this year.
