Some of the most troublesome traffic areas in Chattanooga happen right on I-24, and TDOT is studying how some of those problems can be fixed.
"Right now the interchange of I-24 and 75 is probably the most popular location for comments.  Also the moccasin bend area. As far as traffic when there's a wreck or a crash," said Traffic Engineer Scott Rumble.
TDOT's I-24 corridor study looks at the entire 185 mile stretch of the interstate across Tennessee.
They're holding public hearings like this one to hear each citizens concerns.
Chris Carson brought up that he'd like to see better bicycle access for I-24.
"I'm not necessarily talking about on the interstate but the easement of the interstate and the side of the interstate is an opportunity to address those issues simaltaniously as construction is done," said Carson.
TDOT is taking comments from people like Carson into consideration into their planning process.
"If there's a large number of people that talk about a specific projects then that says a lot to the department as well as local agencies about the need and public perception of what the problems are and the solutions," Rumble said.
Rumble says there are some long term plans to improve the I-24 and 75 interchange and for moccasin bend, but those could take anywhere from 10 to 25 years to complete.
