The Urban League celebrates its 30th anniversary by handing out awards.
They went to a business, a group and an individual who champion equal opportunity, Civil Rights and social justice.
UPS, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the Reverend Paul McDaniel picked up awards.
The Urban League says this annual event represents the essence of the work the group has done the past 30 years...and will continue to do in the future.
Rev. Paul McDaniel,Second Missionary Baptist Church, "It has a special area in the area of civic and civil rights to produce, especially in job opportunities in the economic area. I think it can be most effective and most helpful in that area."
The Urban League estimates last year along its programs helped nearly 7,000 people.
