(WDEF) More Marion County football coaches find themselves in deep trouble.
Tuesday evening we learned volunteer coach Tim Starkey was relieved of his duties effective immediately.
Superintendent of Schools Mark Griffith tells News12 an ongoing investigation showed Starkey may have been aware of the questionable tactics being used to motivate the football team.
Griffith said it was in the players' best interest to let him go.
The dismissal comes on the same day Marion County self-reported a TSSAA violation for suiting up and using a former South Pittsburg player during practice.
Also Tuesday, assistant coach Joe Dan Gudger turned himself in to authorities.
He's accused of spray-painting obscene messages on his school's field house.
Last week, assistant coach Michael Schmitt was also charged with vandalism.
