McMinn County, TN, (WDEF)-Thomas Odum, Martha  Thompson and Amanda Britnell all ranging in age between early 30s to mid 40s are now behind bars after an investigation lasting two weeks.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says 20 year old Victim Tyler Womack tried to stop criminal activity but  lost his life.

Sheriff Joe Guy,"Discovered the three suspects burglarizing an out building and Mr Odum shot Tyler for fear of being recognized and left the scene, it was a really difficult crime scene to work, there were no witnesses"

Guy says investigators relied on scene evidence and with help from District Attorney Steve Crump and the TBI nabbed all three in the past 24 hours.

"All three of them are in custody, there is no bond set, it's a very tragic situation, Tyler was just in the wrong place at the wrong time"

Tyler was found dead on the scene by his grandmother on July 4th.
Family members say he died a hero trying to stop those who deserve to be behind bars.
Melanie Smith, Mother of Victim,"He was thinking about going back to the army and he was supposed to be a hero somewhere, hes put somebody away that needs to be put away, these people don't need to see the light of day ever again"

A distraught Smith added that she is grateful to the investigators and McMinn County Sheriff's office after previously making public appeals for someone with information to come forward.
