CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)- For trucker Jason Montgomery this mornings truck wreck on I-24 westbound did not come as a surprise.

"If people will consider the equipment that is around them and realize that these trucks cannot stop on a dime"

With traffic backed up for more than 5 hours commuters were also fed up.

Kim Paul,"it's just bad and there's no way round it"

Kat Vilmure,"It's really annoying but i gotta get where i gotta get"

Truck drivers have these words of advice for commuters"

Luke Johnson,"I drive a truck every day and just about every car that i pass, i catch them texting and i cannot understand why they won't stop on the phone until where ever they are going"

Brent Anderson, "As truck drivers we always try to have enough space in front of us so we can stop or in case we have to move"

All truckers we spoke to said, sharing the road with trucks rather than competing with them may help reduce accidents in our region.
