On a small back road just off Wooden Loop Rd. on Rigsby Mountain, 24-year-old Monique Einwechter somehow ran her SUV off the side and it flipped over into a small pond.
Four children were inside but only the mother and two of the children, a two and one-year-old, made it out alive.
Nearby Convenient store owner Vonnie Jackson says several people in the tight knit community tried to help, including law enforcement and volunteers.
Rigsby Fire officials were first on the scene, but it took them about 20 minutes to recover the children from the car.
They tell us there was a lot of debris floating in the car and the children were strapped into child restraints.
"We're hoping to find out something, I'm sure the churches will be a big part to reach out for the family members," said Jackson.
Six week old Emoch Einwechter and three year old Susan Einwechter both drowned inside the vehicle.
        Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.
