CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)-10 nominated speakers and 100 chosen guests will gather here on UTC campus to speak at Chattanooga's first Tedx Talks conference.

The global events are ran in chosen communities around the world  to stimulate conversation and share ideas in the hope of improving our planet.

"There are 30,000 talks online and over 1 million are watched every day, I think they reached their billionth watch in 2012"

UTC's David Levine feels Chattanooga has unique minds and the Gigcity is a perfect fit for the internationally streamed and viewed talks.

"We have to have a license to actually hold these events there are thousands of Tedx events, which is what we are holding all over the world"

Organizers say this Tedx Talks will be more focused on moving forward and what happens next for Chattanooga.

Dean Linda Frost,"Because we are trying to envisage the future for both of these entities and not see them as separate forces, UTC needs to be part of the community, it is part of the community and Chattanooga needs UTC."

Frost says the event has been pushed by UTC students from the very beginning who believe their campus is worthy to be considered.

"It was suggested to me that we start a speaker series which I wasn't interested in doing, I heard the students were doing a Ted X and i felt that is exactly what the honors college should get behind"

Organizers say sponsorship is welcome for the event which takes place on October 25th.
