Heart disease is a number one killer of women in America but Monday's Zumbathon, open to students and the community, raised money to change those numbers.

February is American heart association month, and Aquatic and Recreation Center director Lindsay Hyden says all month they're wearing red and showing their passion for reducing the heart disease rates.

One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the American Heart Association.
This is the first Zumbathon at UTC but Hyden says she hopes it will be a February tradition for years to come. "Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance and I have great instructors here at the ARC, and it's just a fun way to exercise and what's so great about it is everyone can do it," Hydens tells WDEF News 12.
