Valley Brook Country Club isn't the vibrant golf course it once was, but Henry Luken is ready to change that.
"Right now I'm buying golf courses, they're too inexpensive and they need a little money to fix them up," Luken said.
Luken purchased Valley Brook from the Drake family through an auction.
        The final price was $950,000.
He's already purchased three other golf courses in the area, and he plans to turn them into enjoyable and profitable pieces of property once again.
"We need to put the pool back in service, we need to put the tennis court back in service and we need to do something to get the facility so it doesn't look like it's 1960 anymore and get it to the 2000's anyway," said Luken.
Luken also purchased equipment from the course in order to keep up the maintenance.
"The guys that have been working on the grass have been doing a really good job so all we're gonna do is give them whatever extra support they need and then we're gonna make the facility pretty again," said Luken.
For the many homes surrounding the golf course, there's a sense of relief that the acreage will remain a golf course.
"I've listened to the homeowners, I've listened to the homeowners association and I've listened to the golfers," said Luken, "We continue to do that and try to make it back into something they can be proud of and cause more memberships."
