A violent robbery in Chattanooga's North Shore area, has residents there on edge.
Police say Friday afternoon a black male wearing a green jacket forced his way into a 28-year-old man's home.
He lives on Mount Vernon Avenue.
The victim did not want to go on camera, but told us the robber taped his hands and legs, and also took a knife and cut the front of his shirt.
The robber made off with the knife, about $150, and a cell phone.
A shot was fired we are told by the robber, but no one was hurt.
The victim's father says the situation is almost undescribable.
Steven Smith, the victim's father, says, "Just shocked to begin with and now fear because you just don't know when you're safe."
Police say the suspect got away in a silver car, possibly a Buick or an Oldsmobile.
