Local veterans could be helping a World World two veteran take his neighbor to court over a property dispute.
87 year old Vernon Herod says his next door neighbor Tammie Davis has built a carport and shed over his property line.
But when Davis appealed the citation, the Board of Zoning Appeals told her it was okay.
Since then hundreds of veterans have backed Herod.
They made an offer to Davis to buy the property for five-thousand dollars, but she hasn't accepted.
Now they're taking it a step further.
"We actually have a list of attorneys that have offered to take this case on a contingency basis.  That means we have a good case.  That also means we have some patriotic attorneys out there," said Steve Hullander, one of Herod's supporters.
Mayor Turner Says the commission voted to dismantle the zoning appeals board.
"Personally I believe she's taking advantage of a person she feels like she can take advantage of.  And she's very clearly violated the property line," said Mayor John Turner.
If veterans do pursue a lawsuit they say it will be against both Davis and the city.
