Summer fun is over and it's back to school for students in Walker County.
Principal Jennifer Genter says everything went smoothly Friday morning at Chattanooga Valley Elementary School.
The school made a few changes for the new school year.
The cafeteria now opens ten minutes earlier at 7:10.
Genter says that should make things more convenient for parents, "We also are adding a faculty dog to assist students who maybe are having a bad day or just need somebody to read to."
The schools new four legged friend will be picked up tomorrow.
He'll go through training for two weeks before he joins the staff.
A number of other area schools open next week.
