The victim is 19-year old Timothy Farmer. He recently returned his family home in the 7500 block of Eurika road after living in Washington state.
Around 7 a.m. Wednesday this call from a neighbor.....farmer Larry Hooper was received at the 9-1-1 center.
SOT---GFX IN:26:01 "behind my house, there's an individual..don't know if he's beaten up or in an accident..he's clinging to the fence..delirious..doesn't know where he is..he's in very bad shape."
Sheriff's deputies quickly rounded up three people, including a father and son.. and charged them with attempted first degree murder, and conspiracy.
Forty three year old Robert Preston Shelton, Senior has a lengthy record including drug possession and theft.
His son, 19 year old Robert Shelton, Junior..who has arrests for burglary....
And...32 year old Connie Andelina Nelson, who has been previously charged with drug possession and sale.
All three live at an apartment on Georgetown road.
But the nature of the attack on Farmer is unclear. Why was he in the field off Eurika road?
SOT---SHERIFF TIM GOBBLE, BRADLEY COUNTY IN:05:50 "yes, we do know how he ended up being on the field...not something we can reveal at this point in the investigation."
The sheriff says a lot of the mystery probably won't be explained until the suspects go to court.
SOT---SHERIFF TIM GOBBLE IN:05:26 "we know from the evidence as to what may have motivated the attack..it's not something we're going to be able to reveal at this time."
Sheriff Tim Gobble said his officers are looking for others believed to be involved.
